Letter 1: IM LA NEW KID

Hi Tim, my name is Patrick and I'm new here.😉
My hobbies are playing video games, watching movies and TV shows, reading comics. Guess I just like hearing stories. Oh! Almost forgot to mention that I'm a skateboarder too, though just a newbie.😂

(that time when I got bit by a radioactive spider.)

I always feel I was born in the wrong decade. Like I said, I love movies and TV shows, some old films are awesome, for example: Shane, To Kill a Mockingbird, the shawshank redemption, the Green Mile......People stop making films like this nowadays. Because of my love for watching movies, I'm also really into those pop culture stuff like Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Terminators, Aliens, Godzilla, GoT, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park...etc.       One of the main reasons I hope to improve English ability is also because of my interests, I want to understand what they try to tell more easily.

"do or do not, there is no try."

I think my English is not that good, I got into this class because of luck, but I'll still do my best for those upcoming challenges.💪💪
                         (yeah that's me)

  1. Patrick,
Welcome to the class! If you enjoy stories, in whatever media or format, then its just a short step to telling, or writing, stories. That's what we hope that you learn this year. Most of the students in the class have very good English skills, and a few of them are already excellent writers. So you're starting out with some excellent role models.
By the way, my son's name is Patrick, my brother's name is Patrick, and my grandfather was John Patrick. Can you tell that we're Irish?

    Tim

  2. Patrick,
I'm waiting for your next letter, telling me about how you're spending your class time playing with your "spiderman surfer". I hope that you were very grateful to Doris, and bought her a couple of new blue highlighters to replace the ones that she used to make the blue water for your little toy.

    Tim
